FIRST NAME BASIS is an alt rock band based in Sacramento, CA. Their music draws from a variety of influences, including grunge, world folk, hardcore, and latin.
Their unmistakable blend of driving alt-rock sounds with sweet and melodic songwriting make them a favorite of audiences of all tastes.
The group released a self-titled EP in 2024, featuring an easy going indie rock sound inspired by the music scene around UC Davis.
After a change in personnel, the group turned to darker sounds rooted in Americana and the hard rock of Sacramento. In Summer of 2026, they released the singles "dont really mind," "pavement," and "wishing well" ahead of their upcoming album "bedlam."
